Last Things

God, in His own time and in His own way, will bring the world to its appropriate end. According to His promise, at the 2nd coming, Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly in glory to the earth; the dead will be raised, and Christ will judge all men in righteousness. The unrighteous will be consigned to Hell, the place of everlasting punishment. The righteous in their resurrected and glorified bodies will receive their reward and will dwell forever in Heaven with the Lord.

Philippians 3:20-21; Colossians 1:5; 3:4; 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18; 5:1; 1 Timothy 6:14; 2 Timothy 4:1,8; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 9:27-28; James 5:8; 1 John 2:28; 3:2; Jude 14; Revelation 1:18; 20:1-22.

God in His own plan and timing will bring this world as we know it to an end and then after a period of fulfillment and judgment, we will enter into eternity either enjoying the presence of God or eternal suffering.

We believe that the next major event in history will be when Jesus will return in the skies to rapture away His church. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17. This event will be invisible to the world and will usher in a period of time known as the Tribulation Period. At the end of the seven-year tribulation period, Jesus will return bodily to the earth. Matthew 24:27.

Then there will come a period of time known as the Millennial Kingdom or the thousand-year reign of Christ. Revelation 20:1-3. This is the final opportunity for people to choose to follow God. Satan is bound for this time period.

After this comes the final judgment or Great White Throne judgment. Revelation 20:11-15. This will be a difficult time as those whose names are not in the Lamb’s Book of Life are cast into the lake of fire to suffer for eternity.

For those who accepted Jesus as their Savior, there will be an eternity dwelling in and enjoying the presence of God. In His presence there is fullness of joy; at His right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11.
